Knock Shrine and Basilica

The Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Established in 1983, the Blessed Sacrament Chapel has recently been updated to enhance its ambiance for visitors. In 2022, renovations were undertaken, introducing a Celtic-styled tabernacle, a collaborative effort between Knock Shrine and Irish Contract Seating. Additionally, new ash wood seating has been installed to ensure comfort for visitors, complemented by the melodic tones of the Viscount Chorum 40 Organ, courtesy of Jeffers Music Company from Bandon, Co. Cork.

A distinctive aspect of the Apparition at Knock is the depiction of the Lamb of God on the altar, symbolizing the profound significance of the Eucharist. This representation is unique, marking it as the sole Apparition where the Blessed Eucharist is central, showcased as the Lamb of God.  With the chapel's renovations complete, it stands ready to welcome both new and returning pilgrims, offering them a space to reflect and connect with the events of 21st August 1879.

For those interested, the Blessed Sacrament Chapel is open for Adoration during the pilgrimage season at the following times:

Monday – Saturday: 9am – 6.30pm

Sunday: 11.30am – 6.30pm

Times vary outside of the Pilgrimage Season.
