Our rich history begins in 1988, when the visionary Monsignor Greally, P.P., and Director of the Knock Shrine, initiated an architectural competition that would give birth to this awe-inspiring structure. Nestled on a low site, the Chapel's design holds profound symbolism, evoking the ritual of Baptism as visitors gracefully descend into its holy embrace. In ancient times, the act of Baptism was celebrated through immersion in a pool, accessed by descending from higher ground. This very act is echoed in the design of our Chapel, paying homage to centuries of spiritual tradition. 

Today, The Chapel of Reconciliation stands as a beacon of serenity, offering visitors a sanctuary for daily Confessions and serving as the nurturing home of the esteemed Knock Counselling Centre. Our dedicated team of compassionate counselors are skilled in guiding individuals towards healing and self-discovery, complementing the spiritual pilgrimage experienced within these sacred walls.

Created with love and devotion by Sr. Angelica Ballan, an esteemed member of the Order of the Divine Master in Rome, this breathtaking artwork encapsulates the essence of our mission. Golden spirals, like radiant rays, encircle the image of the Crucifixion, symbolizing the eternal hope that springs forth from this powerful scene. The broader design of the mosaic revolves around this central theme of hope, infusing our Chapel with an ethereal aura of optimism and boundless possibilities.
