Knock House Hotel achieved the Silver Award in December 2008. The success in achieving this Award in just 8 months, which normally takes up to 18 months to achieve, is due to the extraordinary efforts of all our Staff and Guests, who have embraced the principles wholeheartedly to ensure "the system works"!

- To comply with all current legislation.
- To reduce our water consumption where possible, through a planned process of initiatives.
- To raise awareness, and seek active participation from our customers for our initiatives.
- To actively encourage our suppliers to recycle delivery boxes.
- To host regular "Green Team Meetings" and involve as many staff (on rotation) as possible to ensure they are all aware of, and participate in our initiatives.
- To reduce our landfill waste.
- To reduce our electricity and gas consumption.
- To regularly record and monitor our performance through benchmarking with ourselves and nationally.
